Question Challenge #1: Letter to My Younger Self

Quote Challenge #1

I seen a quote yesterday saying, “If you could tell your younger self something encouraging about your future, what would you say?”  This really got me thinking about so many things I would say and have to look forward to.

I’ve gone through so much in my life time so far and its hard to describe what I would tell my younger self.

First, I would want to tell my little fragile self that life is very bumpy now and will soon be so much better than it was then. All you’ve been through will soon shape the person you will become.

A lot of people, friends and family, will depend on you for big and little tasks to help them get though their own troubles. Just remember it will all be worth it in the future. Please remember you don’t have to say yes to every single favor, don’t forget this is very important! I know it’s not easy for you to say no, but you will have to be strong and say this word sometimes and not feel guilty.

Love your family as much as possible, your Nino, grandma Isabel, your sisters and future nieces will all need your love and support. Always remember family is very important in your life. I know it may not seem so important to you now, but it is. Take time to visit your future step Dad more often than I did, so your kids will know him like you did at one point in our life. He was a very positive role model for us.

Remember crying is okay to do more often than you do, stop holding those tears all in, believe me it’s not healthy. Learn to use your voice more instead of holding those thoughts to yourself, it helps to clear your mind sometimes. You are so much stronger than you think you are.

Don’t be discouraged and think you’ll be stuck at home forever with your mom, this isn’t the case. She does have some good intentions even though she doesn’t always show us. Believe me I’m still trying to cope with some of her words said to us over the years. If you could make peace with her, please do this for us both!

I know you think your never going to fall in love, but it takes some time, so be patient girlie. One day your knight in shining armor will come sweep you off your feet, so be ready for him. He will be everything you dreamed love is and more. He shows us so much in life we never knew existed. Priceless family travels to places we’ve never been with many beautiful memories. You will both learn so much from each other, your life together is so natural and full of love. And yes you do have kids whom you both love more than life itself, if this is possible.

I could go on, but I don’t want to give too much away, just know you will have many experiences in life and learn from them all. Be aware of all your surroundings and get ready for your amazing future.

Daily Prompt: Squat

via Daily Prompt: Squat

I remember back in high school I was in the JROTC class and every Thursday was P.T. I really loved this class but doing physical training wasn’t always fun, I was never good at doing squats, for some reason I could never master them.  Give me anything else to do for my workout except squats.

We would run around the school, which I love running, and challenged myself to do more laps than the week before. While jogging it gave me time to relax and let my thoughts wonder, I think this is why I enjoyed it so much. I have to say JROTC was my favorite class during my senior year, what was yours?

Daily Prompt: Sound

via Daily Prompt: Sound

I enjoy listening to the sounds of the Earth from the out doors!

The little birds chirping for mama to feed them in their nest high in the trees.

How the wind whistles in the air and make the leaves dance in rhythm.

Watching the beautiful waves in the ocean splash into each other making loud music.

I love the sound of rain drops banging against my windows with force.

A random dog barking as he’s chasing the ducks quacking away to the lake.

All these sounds are so beautiful to hear while I sit with my eyes closed and imagine our

Mother nature showing off.

Daily Prompt: Expectation

via Daily Prompt: Expectation

Growing up my mom had high expectation’s of us, although we knew we could never be who she wanted us to be. We tried our best to do everything as we were told, but somehow it was never enough, why?

Learning to just do it and get it done was always my state of mind no matter what the task happen to be. All we wanted to do was have fun with our sisters and friends, but instead we were either doing chores or some type of homework- even when no work was given by a teacher and weekends. Sometimes we would just stay in our rooms so we weren’t told to do something or we would sneak out to play.

So many struggles happened in life back in the 1970’s and 1980’s, but we just all had to do what was told even if we didn’t understand the reasons behind the task. It was a long journey from where I’ve come from to today and I thank God for being there through it all and helping me survive my childhood.

I’m grateful for the life I know live with the love of my life,  I’m married to my high school sweetheart and we have two wonderful boy’s, whom we treasure.

Walmart Does What Now?

This is something that has been on  my mind for some time now. Is anyone else not liking the new Walmart receipt checking on the way out? Well I sure don’t care for this and I don’t think they should be doing this! I pay for my membership at Costco so I don’t mind stopping at the door and showing my receipt.

I’m not sure if this is just in my neck of the woods or everywhere.

My son came home from Walmart one day saying he felt harassed when he tried to walk out of the store without showing his receipt and the worker at the door was saying he had to show it before he left. I called right away and spoke with the manager, who said this is their new policy. Well my husband and I never stop and show anything to them and we are never stopped. He just kept saying its their new policy.

I seen a couple leaving Walmart very pissed at the worker asking for their receipt after purchasing a pack of gum. He refused to show and walked out of the store on a rant. Saying they’ve spent thousands of dollars at this store and shouldn’t have to stand in line to show his freaking receipt.

I agree with this couple, I mean come on this is Walmart,  no other store does this, that I know of  except Costco.

Please let me know what your thoughts are on this.

Daily Word for Feb. 14

Love is the essence of who I am.

It is written in the Book of Romans that love is the fulfillment of God’s law. Love is the thread that weaves together the fabric of all human life and connects everything in the universe. Love is the essence and purpose of my very being.

I used the power of love in my everyday life. I look at the world through the eyes of love and focus on the good in each person and situation I encounter. If I cannot find the good, I lean on my faith in God and trust that the omnipresent power of love is always present, even when I connect with the presence of love within me.

Love is the essence of who I am and I am able to call upon the power of love in every moment.

Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law. -Romans 13:8
