Our First Born

I remember 28 years today so clearly as if it was not so long ago.

Going into labor was all new to me and not knowing what to expect was a little unnerving. The pains started at early dawn and didn’t seem to go away. I just kept pacing back and forth in our bedroom rubbing my tummy.

A few hours had passed with no change. My sister-in-law lived with us, she said I was in labor and it was time to go to the hospital.

We were both excited and scared at the same time. My husband bath me and got our baby bag, then we were on our way to have our baby.

After getting checked in and taken to our room, it was now about 7 am. Next it was time for the nurse to put my IV and check vitals. She messed up on her first try, and my blood started dripping everywhere. My husband wasn’t too thrilled with her for this mess up. She apologized and fixed her mistake on the next attempt.

By the time the doctor seen me it was already 10 am. She said I still had a while to go before delivery, as I was only dilated to 3 cm. Which ment I was most likely going to be there a long while before giving birth.

The hospital made me as comfortable as I was able to be. The day seemed to go by very slow.

It was finally time to head over to the delivery room. I heard many labor stories, but this is our story. I’m not going to lie it was very painful, but so worth every single pain.

We didn’t want to know the gender of our baby during our pregnancy, but I knew in my heart we were having a boy.

It was just my husband and I in the delivery room, besides all the doctors, of course. The doctor told me to give one last push and all of a sudden we heard our baby boy cry. Yes we cried a joyful cry with him. Our son was born at 7:21 pm and was 7 lbs. 7 oz.

We were now officially parents to a handsome baby boy!

It’s now our son’s 28th birthday and we still remember the day of his birth so clearly.

We love you son & happy birthday💕
